Live Wine Blog Part 2

Karen over at Imbibe weighs in with her post recapping yesterdays activities! Fun stuff all over. Here’s a sip, and be careful to spit!

Red #1 (25.99)–Bright ruby red with dusty cherry on the nose and a hint of violet. Cherry fruit turns sweet on the palate–bright candy, with a thread of spice and a gripping tannic finish. Simple, easy drinking wine. Tastes like a sangiovese; we’ll wait and see…

Red #2 ($19.99)–Ruby red with soft vegetal aromas, earth, and spice.  Silkier in texture than on the palate, the mouthfeel and nose are misleading.  Cherry fruit slams the palate, followed by tannins, and not much else.  I’m left with a coated mouth and a slightly sour cherry/sour milk finish.
