Austin Chef’s Table Supper Club ‘A Torrid Affair’ to Hold Next Event November 16 at Urban Roots Farm

Press Release: Charity Food and Cocktail Pairing Event to Feature Two Chefs + Two Mixologists and a Special Five Course Dining Experience

Austin, Texas based charity supper club A TORRID AFFAIR will hold its November dinner event on Wednesday, November 16 at Urban Roots (www.urbanrootsatx.org). This month’s cocktail pairing dinner will feature a menu created by Chefs Jason Dodge of Péché and Chris Goldman of Lambert’s along with local Mixologists Justin Elliot (Beverage Director at the Volstead Lounge at Hotel Vegas) and Florian Minier of Haddington’s. Presented in conjunction with Austin all-local food delivery service Farmhouse Delivery and featuring food from Urban RootsLoncito’s Lamb and Twin Oaks Heritage Pork, this will be a unique event that lovers of fresh, local food and creative dining will not want to miss! Tickets to the November 16 A TORRID AFFAIR event are on sale now at www.atorridaffair.org.

Adding additional intrigue to an already exciting dining concept that A TORRID AFFAIR has established in its previous charity food and cocktail pairing dinners held at East Austin’s Springdale Farm (www.springdalefarmaustin.com) the November ATA event will ramp the proceedings up twofold as the A TORRID AFFAIR event staff doubles this time out, presenting an integrated menu of cuisine and cocktails imagined by a four person team consisting of two chefs and two mixologists!  Each pairing course will feature a different combination of  food/drink creators so that every course is prepared by a different “team”; a larger scale collaboration which presents the challenge of maintaining an overall cohesive meal with all of the food/drink pros working as one to create a unified experience.

The just-announced menu for the November 16 A TORRID AFFAIR chef’s table supper club is as follows:

The evening will begin at 7:00 PM with a fresh seasonal cocktail enjoyed while touring Urban Roots’ 3.5 acre farm. Guests will then have an opportunity to ask questions of the chefs, mixologists and farmers. From there, everyone will be seated for an introduction to the food and cocktail pairing menu. A TORRID AFFAIR‘s concept is that the food and the drinks “work together to compliment and at times complete each other.” The guest chefs and mixologists will give a brief description of their creative pairings prior to each course, enhancing the experience of their creations and informing guests of how the fresh local ingredients in both the food and drinks blend to create an unforgettable dining experience.

The launch of A TORRID AFFAIR has drawn rave reviews from Austin media. Austinist called ATA “a chance to see food and cocktail pairings at their best” and Austin Food Journal applauded ATA as “Great food, perfect setting and for all the right reasons.”
